Compliments on another level
I've used high end perfume for years, but the reaction to this is different. The compliments are on another level.
Concept Shopify Plus checkout, drawn to what Shopify allows. Nothing here takes payment.

Support sorted it the same day
My first scent wasn't for me. Emailed support and they sorted it the same day. Ventura is now my go-to.
Fast and tracked the whole way
Ordered on Monday, arrived Thursday with tracking the whole way. Already back for a second set.
She noticed straight away
First day wearing Crimson 540 and my wife noticed straight away. Worth every penny.

Every numbered block above is drawn to what Shopify Plus allows today: native checkout blocks restyled with the Checkout Branding API, checkout UI extensions at their supported positions, Shopify Functions and a post-purchase extension. Turn on "Show build notes" at the top to see the pins, and which parts Shopify draws (Native) versus what we add (Extension).
Built the way your current checkout already does it: the wordmark, Trustpilot stars and 30-day guarantee bar are one logo image uploaded in checkout branding, so the guarantee is the first thing every shopper sees and it's always exactly logo width. Update the image when your review count moves. Below it, a success-tone (green) Banner counts down the shopper's sale pricing. Its offer line isn't hardcoded: the extension reads the checkout's applied discounts (useDiscountAllocations) and the jar count from the cart lines, so it names whichever tier the shopper unlocked (Buy 1 sale price, Buy 2 · 1 Free Gift, Buy 3 · 3 Free Gifts) and updates live if a scent is added or removed. Name each automatic discount exactly as the banner should read it. Use the Offer switch at the top to preview each tier. The extension keeps its own timer state and re-renders the time every second. The end time is saved as a cart attribute when checkout opens, so a reload or a trip back to the cart doesn't restart it. It only renders when the sale discount is applied. Shopify's guidelines are cautious about urgency, so the timer should count down a real deadline that actually ends the offer, not one that quietly restarts. In this preview it restarts at zero so you can keep watching it.
header.render-after (Banner + useDiscountAllocations + applyAttributeChange)
Most of your traffic is mobile social. Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay skip every field below. Shopify reports Shop Pay converts up to 50% better than guest checkout. The line above OR is Shopify's consent text, reworded in the checkout language editor to lead with the benefit (one tap, saved details). It keeps "future charges" and the cancellation policy link, which the consent needs. The card badges under OR are one Image in a checkout block extension, placed above Contact in the checkout editor.
Native · Settings › Payments + language editor
Every extra field costs completions. Address autocomplete, an optional phone, the reworded labels and the marketing opt-in text are all checkout settings and the checkout language editor. Shopify keeps the field order and layout, so we only choose which optional fields show and what they say.
Native · Checkout settings + language editor
Shopify lists rates cheapest first, so free Standard sits on top, preselected. Each rate shows its native transit time. One line under the list turns the selected rate into a real arrive-by date, which answers "when will it arrive?" before it's asked.
Native rates + shipping-option-list.render-after
Shopify draws this whole block: card fields, card icons, the Klarna row and its redirect message. We set its colours, font and corner radius, but can't redesign or rearrange the fields. A Payment Customization Function sets the order and hides methods you don't want in certain markets.
Payment Customization Function
One line under the payment list turns the total into three smaller payments for shoppers who hesitate at the total. It reads the live checkout total, so it updates with shipping and the upsell.

Three icons answer the doubts that stall a buy: what if I don't like it, how fast is it, is my card safe. Below them, real Trustpilot reviews swipe in a horizontal ScrollView of cards in your checkout colours (extensions can't use Trustpilot's own palette or avatar circles), each with Trustpilot's official star image, title, text and name, synced from Trustpilot's API into a shop metafield. Then three quick answers in Disclosure accordions. Everything renders just below the native policy links, and the button stays native, styled with the Branding API.
UI extension · footer.render-after (ScrollView, Image, Disclosure)
On mobile, Shopify's one-page checkout folds the order into one Total row above Pay now: stacked thumbnails, item count, total and total savings. Tap it to see the lines. Shopify places, orders and styles every row in here, and extensions can't regroup or replace them. Inside are only native lines: 3 jars and 2 gifts. Shopify fixes line thumbnails at 64px and shows the variant image first, so set the clean jar shot as each variant's image without touching your PDP gallery. "Inspired by" under each jar is the only added text. The gifts show Shopify's own discount tag and FREE, and "Total savings" at the bottom carries the whole offer, so there's no extra savings panel. Price the gifts at their real value and let a Buy X Get Y discount take them to $0, so the savings count them. On subscription orders, Shopify's native subscription row sits under the Total on its grey subdued background with the help icon on the right, exactly as your live checkout shows it today. Its label is renamed to "30-Day Guarantee" in the checkout language editor, and its help icon keeps the plan details. The subscription text under it is reworded to "Risk-free with our 30-day happiness guarantee. Cancel or manage your plan anytime." One-time orders never show either.
Native lines + language editor + cart-line-item.render-after
A short list of three scents the shopper doesn't already own. Each row has a 64px Image, the title with its % off in the success tone, the sale price, the retail price as Text with the deletion role, and an Add Button in your secondary button style. The extension skips any scent already in the cart. The extension reads the cart lines first: if the jars carry a selling plan (any jar on a plan counts), each row shows the scent's refill price from its selling plan allocation, and Add calls applyCartLinesChange with that same sellingPlanId, so the scent joins the subscription at exactly the price shown. If the jars are one-time, the rows show the one-time price and add with no plan. Use the Subscription / One-time switch at the top to preview both. Either way the jar drops into the summary with no reload and the button switches to a plain Added state, since Shopify buttons can't turn green. Under it, shipping insurance is one compact bordered row (a small green shield-check icon uploaded as an SVG Image, title, one subdued line, price) with a Checkbox that adds or removes your Leak Protection product as a cart line. It shows as ticked because that line is added in the cart before checkout, and unticking it removes the line. Leave this default off for UK and EU markets, where pre-ticked boxes for extra charges aren't allowed.
UI extension · reductions.render-before + applyCartLinesChange
Tap Pay now to preview both pages. After payment, a full-page one-click offer appears before the receipt, built from Shopify's post-purchase components: callout banner, image, price breakdown, accept and decline. It offers a different scent from the checkout upsell, so the two offers never compete or undercut each other. Shopify requires the price breakdown and a clear decline, and some payment methods skip this page. The Thank you page stays native (confirmation, order details, continue shopping), and the timeline and referral are one extension block.
Post-purchase extension + purchase.thank-you.block.render
The limits your developer flagged, mapped onto the design. Where Shopify owns a block, the mock-up now shows it the way Shopify draws it, so what you see here is what to expect.
Shopify controls: card fields, method rows, card icons, the billing checkbox and Klarna's redirect. Restyle only, no rearranging.
In this mock-up: shown as Shopify draws it, in your colours, font and 10px radius. The pay-in-3 line sits just below, at a supported spot (pin 6).
Shopify controls: line items, discount field, subtotal, shipping, total and the recurring row. They can't be replaced, regrouped or restyled.
In this mock-up: only native rows, plus an "Inspired by" line. Scents and insurance sit above the discount field, Shopify's slot for offers. The guarantee is the native subscription row, grey background and all, with a new label.
Shopify controls: extensions use Shopify's components (Banner, Text, Image, Button, Checkbox, ScrollView, Disclosure), not custom HTML or CSS.
In this mock-up: every custom block is drawn from those components, with one radius and your brand tokens throughout. Expect small differences in spacing, type size and exact position.
Shopify controls: the order and layout of the contact, delivery and payment fields.
In this mock-up: Shopify's field order, unchanged. We only reword labels, make phone optional, turn on address autocomplete and set the opt-in text. All of these are native settings.
The concern: not a technical limit. It's flagged under Shopify's checkout guidelines on urgency.
In this mock-up: kept, by your call. A green success Banner with a live mm:ss countdown, saved per checkout so a reload doesn't restart it. The offer it names follows the discount actually applied, Buy 1 to Buy 3. Counting down a real deadline keeps it on the right side of the guidelines.
The countdown timer, upsells, shipping insurance, the arrive-by message, trust badges, reviews, FAQs, the pay-in-3 line, the post-purchase offer and the thank-you timeline all work as shown, built with Shopify's components.
What this mock-up deliberately avoids, because Shopify checkout doesn't allow it:
Pulled directly from your PDP, collection and cart, so the checkout is the same brand.
Font: Inter (Shopify font library) Corner radius: 10px Pay button: yellow #FFD814, 1px #FCD200 border, #0F1111 text, hover #F7CA00, fully rounded, semibold, sentence case Secondary button (Add): espresso #3E2C23, white text Logo image: wordmark + Trustpilot stars + guarantee bar (espresso #3E2C23 to bronze #8A5E3C, gold #C6A564 edge) Header divider: on (full width, #E8E1D8)
Checkout is for finishing, not browsing. These do well earlier in the funnel but add friction here.
